It happens to all of us. We wake up, look at our spouses and glare at them as they just spent the entire night cheating on you in your dream.
These sorts of dreams can create intense emotions and often times conflict between spouses. Here are some tips to help you deal with these dreams.
1. Use A Calming Technique Before You Talk About It
The last thing you want to do is to have an argument first thing in the morning. For this it is important that we collect our emotions before unleash our thoughts about our dreams.
Whatever it is you do to help you calm your emotions, this is the time to do so. Do not jump into talking about your dream with your spouse without using some sort of calming tool first.
2. Talk Don’t Blame
When you are ready to talk to your spouse about your dream then talk to them about the dream and the feelings you had in the dream. The feelings are more important than the facts because the facts of the dreams can be fuzzy.
The feelings will let your partner feel less targeted about your dream. What you don’t want to do blame your partner for your dream and begin to label them a cheater.
3. It Is Just A Dream
No matter what your beliefs are on cheating dreams you have to understand that it is not fair to judge your spouse based on a dream you had. Your spouse can not control your dreams or what happens in your dreams.
Blaming them for something that happened in your dream is a recipe for arguments in the short and long term.
